Introduction
In clinical studies, data is collected and analyzed using various statistical tests. The results of these tests, including the minimum (Min) and maximum (Max) values, are often presented in the final Tables. These values are displayed as numeric with a decimal separator, and the number of decimal places adheres to specific criteria. The criteria may depend on factors such as measurement precision or statistical requirements. Researchers and statisticians must ensure that the presentation of Min and Max values follows the appropriate criteria for their study.
Purpose
Validates that the number of decimal places in the min/max/range is no less or equal to the decimal places in the mean.
Applicability
Inclusion conditions
By Keywords - one from each bullet point:
- Min, Max, minimum, maximum, range
- Mean
Exclusion
- Empty table
- Tables that do not contain the inclusion conditions
- The following types of Mean:
- Geometric mean
- Harmonic mean
- Weighted mean
- Specific cells are considered not applicable:
- N/A, NA, N/E, NE, NR
- Dashes
- Blank cells
- Dot
- Number with power
Discrepancies
The number of decimal places for the Minimum/Maximum should be equal or less than the Mean.
Discrepancy Example
- The number of decimal places of the mean is 3.
- The number of decimal places of min is 4.
