Introduction
In clinical studies, the data is collected and then analyzed. As part of this analysis, the data might be presented in statistical tests performed on it, such as p-value. The aforementioned value is presented in numbers with a decimal separator, and the number of decimal places has to meet specific criteria.
Purpose
Validates that:
- The number of decimal places presented in percentage is 3 or 4.
- The p-value number is between 0 to 1.
Applicability
Inclusion conditions
- “p-value” in the row headers or column headers of the table.
Exclusion
- Empty table
- Tables that do not contain the inclusion conditions
- Specific cells are considered not applicable:
- Value equals 0
- N/A, NA, N/E, NE, NR
- Dashes
- Blank cells
Discrepancies
- p-value with 2 or fewer decimal digits
- p-value with 5 or more decimal digits
- No decimal point found
- The p-value number is not between 0 and 1
Discrepancy Example
p-value with more than 4 decimal digits.
