Purpose

The goal is to ensure consistency in formatting, specifically by validating the absence of spaces after the opening parenthesis and before the closing parenthesis, thus maintaining uniformity in the usage of round brackets ().

Applicability 

Inclusion conditions 

• Where there are round brackets in the title, body or footnotes of Table and Listing
• Parenthesis, round brackets ()

Exclusion 

• Figure
• Other type of parenthesis:  
  • Brackets []
  • Brace, curly brackets {} 
  • Major and minor symbols <> 
• Empty table

Discrepancies

• ‘Space between bracket and character’
